Parmalat Clarence Gardens (SA) “SCADA System Upgrade”
Parmalat needed to replace the aging & obsolete iFix SCADA system with a reliable and supportable system. The replacement CitectSCADA runs on Windows servers. LRI Solutions was chosen for this project, and developed the system based on Parmalats' requirements and SCADA standards.
Key Requirements
- Develop new plant views for all existing operator controls & status information
- Expand plant pages to include more information grouped in logical areas
- Make page layouts, controls and functionality conform with company standards
- All new layouts and controls to be easily recognisable to plant operators
System Architecture
- Two Windows 2008 servers - Primary and standby.
- Both CitectSCADA V7.20 I/O servers to communicate with seven Allen-Bradley PLC's
- Three internet clients accessed using Wyse terminals on the plant floor
Developement Phases
- Create new tag databases, alarms & trends
- Create new Hi-Res pages (1920x1080), graphics, animations and popup controls
- Test all device tags, animations and controls using PLC emulation
Site Commissioning
- Work with Parmalat engineer to rollout new system whilst keeping old iFix system online
- Test all devices and debug any problems
- Support the operators during initial trials, and assist with familiarisation with the new system
- Implement changes and improvements requested by operators
